Subject: 4.0 Monitor, Control, Data Acquisition & Archiving

The MCDAA is built with a fully connected network topology. The basic architecture of the system consists of a network of computer hosts, and each of these hosts is running one or more software server applications that control various important aspects of the system.

For example, the AntennaServer server application runs on the AntCntl host. AntennaServer talks to each dish server running each antenna. If a client application wishes to control or monitor an antenna, it commumicates with the AntennaServer.

The major communication protocol for most MCDAA server and client applications is JSDA.
